But if you\u2019re still settling on what changes you\u2019d like to make in your life this year, you\u2019re not alone. We know that change can be hard. Even when it\u2019s planned, and even when it\u2019s for the best, change is never easy.<\/p>\n<p>But with your pet by your side, many of the goals you\u2019d like to achieve in 2014 don\u2019t have to be nearly so daunting. Your pet can truly be your best friend and biggest champion when it comes to creating a better life.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some examples\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u2022 Lose weight<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b>When it comes to weight loss, your pet is your judgment-free partner. They may not be able to tell you when your jeans are getting baggy (or tight), but they can be your sounding board, your walking buddy, and your motivation \u2013 they are truly your best friends when it comes to meeting this goal.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u2022 Help others<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b>Make a commitment to making our community a better place, and then know that every time you look into those big, soulful eyes that your pet thinks the world of you for helping others. Chances are you will not be able to shirk your duties with those eyes looking up at you.<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ovrs.com\/wordpress\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Likewise, you could find a volunteer opportunity for the both of you and know that your dedication is making the world a better place for both your pet and someone in need.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u2022 Quit smoking<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b>One way to successfully break a bad habit is to replace it with something else. So why not make that something else your pet? Every time you have an urge to smoke, take your dog for a walk, groom them, or play a game of fetch instead. Also, think about how much healthier your pet\u2019s lungs will be without all that secondhand smoke.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u2022 Manage stress<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b>Do we need to elaborate? Pets are great listeners, never judge you, and are always supportive. They encourage you to exercise, which is also a great outlet for the stress in your life. Not to mention the meditative release of simply petting your pet at the end of a long day.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u2022 Eat better<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b>More than likely, both you and Fido or Fluffy need to make some changes in this department. Goals like this are much easier to accomplish as a team. You can do it. But it will be better if you do it together.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u2022 Exercise more<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b>You are more likely to enjoy exercise when you have a partner. You may not be able to take your pet to the gym, but you can go for a walk, run, hike, or even a bike ride with your dog, which is often better anyhow. Plus, how can you say no when someone is begging you to go for \u201cjust a little walk\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>Whatever life changes you have planned for the year ahead, remember that your pet is your biggest fan and will always be happy to help you accomplish whatever you set out to do.<\/p>\n<p>Pets are good like that&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New Year has finally arrived and already its days are ticking by.
